This webinar was rescheduled from the original date of February 23.The OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard requires that employers whose employees use respiratory protection implement a respiratory protection program. Complying with this OSHA requirement means that employers must be able to determine when the use of respiratory protection is appropriate to control worker exposure to airborne hazards. If the decision to use respiratory protection is made, respiratory protection must be used in accordance with a written program that addresses the program elements of the OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard.
Determining possible approaches to control worker exposure to respiratory hazards, such as engineering controls (e.g. ventilation), administrative controls (e.g. job rotation), and respiratory protection is described. This includes a discussion of when the use of respiratory protection permitted by OSHA.
