Air barrier systems for building envelopes are no longer an option; they are a requirement by most cities and states. There are many different products and several methods available to create an air barrier. Architects need to know what kind of air barrier material and method are the best for their project to ensure the best performance. In addition, contractors should be familiar with these materials and methods to optimize the construction schedule, and building owners should know about the role of an air barrier in promoting the well-being of the interior environment and energy efficiency of their buildings. Silicone air barriers can provide the solutions for many challenges. Participants are eligible for one AIA LU credit.
