UHP Projects
Richard Dupuy is the CEO of UHP Projects, Inc., which he founded in 1993. He founded the company to supply state of the art surface preparation and recoating services to marine and industrial industries. The company has grown to 4 offices in 2 countries.
Prior to starting UHP Projects, Dupuy was the Department Superintendant for UHP services at Halliburton where he managed the UHP services of 7 District offices. Under his direction, in 1990, the company completed the first large-scale lead abatement project utilizing UHP waterjetting technology to remove lead paint from 265,000 square feet of bilge areas on CVN65 at Newport News Shipyard.
Dupuy graduated from the University of Louisiana in 1978 with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and a minor in Business Management. He has published several technical papers with trade organizations on the use of UHP waterjetting for surface preparation applications. Since 1988, he has served on the technical committee that developed the written and visual SSPC standards for UHP surface preparation that are currently in use.
