Coating materials and water repellents help to control the intrusion of moisture through the walls of commercial buildings. When coupled with the use of appropriate sealants, an effective barrier can be created. This webinar provides guidance for the selection of coatings, water repellents and sealants to control moisture intrusion, and key inspections that can be performed to confirm that the materials are being installed correctly. Participants are eligible for one AIA LU credit.

Learning Objectives:
• Identify the types of exterior coatings that are used to control moisture intrusion in above-ground concrete and masonry walls

• Identify the types of exterior water repellents that are used to control moisture intrusion in unpainted above-ground concrete and masonry walls

• Identify the types of exterior sealants that are used in joints and around penetrations

• Describe methods for evaluating the quality of material installation
