LUMIFLON® FEVE Resins were developed by Asahi Glass in 1982 as the world’s first solvent-soluble fluoropolymers. In the past 35 years, fluoropolymer coatings based on LUMIFLON® FEVE Resins have been produced by paint manufacturers around the world, and applied to over 150,000 structures. The use of LUMIFLON ® FEVE Resins offers substantial life cycle cost savings compared to conventional coating technologies. Please visit

This course discusses the future of exterior coatings and finishes, and explains the bespoke process of achieving a site-specific, client-specific design.

Using the offset gravure printing process, unique finishes such as vintage luxury metals, abstract stone and wood can be printed on various types of metals. This manufacturing process results in high-fidelity finishes capable of various fabrication types of a metal substrate, while providing a Class A Fire-Rated, durable, easily maintained and sustainable product. For exterior applications, we will discuss the advantages of using a FEVE over PVDF coatings. Participants are eligible for one AIA LU credit.

Learning objectives:
• Describe the offset-gravure printing process and its components
• Discuss the features and design capabilities of architectural printed metal products;
• Understand the advantages of FEVE over PVDF coatings
• Identify how architectural printed metal products may contribute to the sustainability of a building
