Lake Mathews, like most other lakes in Southern California, rely on Colorado River water and we have been experiencing the invasion of the Quagga mussel. This invasive species causes numerous problems affiliated with the distribution of any water system. This presentation will review the process of preparing a substrate, using a system that is as unique as the Quagga mussels themselves, and effective choices are the results of the application after 1 year showing the performance of that system.

Learning Objectives:

  1. New coatings to repeal Quagga Mussels
  2. Type of preparation required
  3. Types of substrates that can be coated
  4. Expectancy of longevity
