Over the last four years, SSPC: The Society for Protective Coatings has revised and developed four industry consensus standards related to the surface preparation of concrete substrates. This webinar will focus on SSPC standards associated with the surface preparation of concrete. Additionally this webinar will tie-in several other important testing methods and guides from other organizations which work in conjunction to these SSPC standards.
Jim Kunkle has a primary responsibility of Business Development at SSPC: The Society for Protective Coatings. The SSPC was founded in 1950 as the Steel Structures Painting Council, a non-profit professional membership society concerned with the use of coatings to protect industrial steel and concrete structures. Jim began his career at SSPC in 2013 working in the Marketing department and is currently the Manager of Development and Membership Engagement. Jim is directly responsible for business development of SSPC programs and certifications related to concrete assets, such as: Water & Wastewater Treatment, Industrial Floor Coatings, Structural Infrastructure, and SSPC development in Latin America.
He holds both a Masters in Communication and Information Systems and a BSBA in Communications Management from Robert Morris University (Pittsburgh, PA). Jim is a qualified SSPC Level 1 Inspection Technician for Protective Coatings Inspector (PCI) and Concrete Coatings Inspector (CCI), recently in 2017 earned his Protective Coatings Specialist (PCS) Certification.
