Choosing Abrasive Media for Blasting Applications

Originally Presented: Tuesday, November 10, 2020

Selecting the right abrasives for your application can be difficult. The experts at SurfacePrep know surface preparation (it’s in our name). With 124 sales and technical partners, we interact with every type of application and every niche in the industrial and contractor market. We’ll teach you the common-sense approach to abrasive selection—describing media types, their characteristics, sizing available, mil profiles, recyclability, and more—to give you the knowledge you need to decide on the best media for your projects.

Clay Miller

Clay Miller started in the industry in 1996 as a regional sales manager for a surface preparation and industrial coating application distributor in Birmingham, AL. After ten years of working with industrial paint and blast contractors at the distributor level, Clay went on to work as a manufacturer’s representative for the next ten years, with Clemco Industries Corp. as well as E. D. Bullard Company, focusing on abrasive blast equipment and operator safety. He was part of the first Contractor Connect event, serving as an equipment panel discussion member. When Clay is not working with customers, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son on the lake.
