Use a bristle blaster, which is portable power tool equipment or use a grinder to prepare the delaminated area, which also removes loose rust and roughens the exposed metal. Extend the bristle blasting 4 inches beyond the boundary of the delaminated area onto the sound coating and feather edges all around. Remove the surface dust with dry and clean air. Then apply the coating as per the application procedure suggested by the manufacturer over the delaminated area and extend it 4 inches inches beyond the delaminated area onto the sound coating..

Remove the damaged area, smoothing the edges with a disc grinder, and then apply the specified primer on the steel or concrete (Surface prep needs to be done before these steps.) Apply an activator on the existing coating around the touch-up and then apply the polyuréa with about 10 inches overlap on the existing coating.
