Provided the recoat window is still open and there is no surface contamination, it is practical to apply another coat of the organic zinc rich epoxy over itself; or, as an alternate, if the system is specified to receive an intermediate and finish coat, another option would be to apply 2 intermediates using caution to observe and adhere to dft's.
In the case of an inorganic zinc, it is more complicated to apply another coat of inorganic zinc over itself. However, with an organic zinc, it can be overcoated with itself provided the criteria above are met.
