Both juried papers and industry-sponsored studies supporting the use of antimicrobial agents for hospital and general healthcare environment substrates are available. These include text as well as tabulated efficacy data in controlled environments (laboratories) and field data.
As with all scientific texts, the reader must review the published findings within the context of the documents cited. This requires the reader also to access those cited works and include the information presented therein as part any valid pursuit of conclusions derived from those works.
It is important to note that industry-sponsored studies and studies in pay-to-publish publications, which are available to readers at no cost, do not qualify as sources for use in further research by the scientific community.
That is in no way meant to impugn the veracity of those sources, only to inform those outside the scientific community that all publications do not meet the criteria for inclusion in the larger body of scientific knowledge.
It is the sole responsibility of the reader to assess the value of information contained in those works. It is at the sole risk of the reader to weight such data in as they see appropriate.
