You'll need the following: properly operating equipment, a highly competent applicator spraying at the right distance, and a tip that's not worn. Some of these high solids coatings are very abrasive, and can wear out a tip in only a few dozen gallons or sooner.

Use the right tip for the viscosity and fan pattern.
Adjust pressure to just above where the coating pattern makes tails.
I saw a demonstration of an HVLP turbine gun vs an airless with a fine finish tip. Using the same paint, a latex semi-gloss thinned with Paint Mate(not water), the airless appeared to have much less overspray and went much faster.
