The Positector 200 will measure dry film thickness on concrete in a non-destructive manner. A Tooke gauge may also be used to determine dry film thickness in a destructive manner. If one finds himself in the field without either gauge, try talking to the painter to find out if the coating is being thinned. Then, with that information, the volume solids, specified dry film thickness, number of empty buckets, and square footage covered, you should get a rough idea of how much coating is being applied and whether or not you need to re-visit the job with one of the aforementioned gauges.
