The CP would take care of any areas of coating damage or deficiencies. Care should be taken in the efficiency of the coating selected for the hull protection and also in the design of the CP system used.

For underwater hulls, the primer/anti-corrosive sy ...read more For underwater hulls, the primer/anti-corrosive system should be a hard, abrasion and cathodic disbondment-resistant epoxy, followed by an antifouling paint that suits to the kind of seas the FPSO will be stationed in. If the seas are relatively calm then an SPC type may be suitable, but in a relatively-rough, high-current seas a biocide-free fluoropolymer type (e.g. Intersleek 1100SR) will probably be better.
