Stripe Coating is an important practice and it is always a powerful quality tool, regardless of edge retention primer to be used.

First, there is more to "Stripe Coats" then edges! such as "Pitted Areas, Rough Weld Seams, Weld Spatter not required to be ground off, etc. Secondly, As an "Insurance" coat. on all hard to coat areas. I also, like to Brush a Stripe Coat, so the Paint can be worked into all "Pitted Areas, Inside Corners, Outside Corners, Weld Seams, etc.
