What is the best method for preparing newly galvanized steel to be overcoated with an epoxy system?

Selected Answers

From Marco Fabio Ramenzoni of ZINGA METALL BRASIL on June 1, 2020:
Preferably, choose hot dip galvanizing without any chrome passivation. Start washing with 140 bar pressure and 80 C water to remove dirt, oils and grease. Dry it immediately with clean compressed air. Then brush it off with a dry blasting system just to create roughness. Apply the paint system as recommended by the paint manufacturer.

From Fernando Soares of Axalta Coating Systems Portugal, SA on June 1, 2020:
Degrease + light sanding + degrease.
