What are the alternatives for removing mildew from previously uncoated concrete block exteriors before coating?

Selected Answers

From Zenith Czora of Parex Davco on March 25, 2019:
Depending on the severity of the mildew growth, you may use a household bleach solution by thoroughly soaking the infected area and then brushing with clean water. If a stubborn growth of mildew is present, use a solution containing Disodium Octaborate Tetrahydrate, and Benzalkonium Chloride. Always wear PPE when handling chemicals and follow the manufacturer's instruction on how to use and apply this type of mildew killer.

From Marcos Albuquerque of Benjamin Moore on February 5, 2019:
Power wash with some mildew killer.
