From trevor neale of TF Warren Group on March 22, 2017:
Depending on the liability implications, it may be necessary to carry out IR and other scans to ensure conformance to the original material that was selected. At the very least, certificates of conformance could be requested. At the job site the materials must be stored in accordance with manufacturers' data sheet, typically from 40 to  90 F.

From Steve Brunner of WPC Technologies on March 14, 2017:
Given the number of variables in a coating, there is no simple answer. A coating is binder, pigment and solvent, all of which have specification ranges which affect the coating parameters. All that stated, viscosity and solids are two tests which can be used to indicate consistency from lot to lot.
