Toward the end of July, President Donald J. Trump signed an order that would promote the expanded use of American-made iron and steel in federal projects. Since federal projects are on a small fraction of steel usage, it will have little to no effect on the overall economy. However, this would steer US taxpayers' dollars to American producers, a good step.
