Mississippi’s governor recently closed dozens of bridges in the state because they did not meet safety standards. Should more states be taking bridge condition more seriously and shutting down unsafe spans?


Yes; bridges that are not up to standards must be closed and repaired immediately.
No; most states are addressing bridge problems as quickly as they can already, and shutting down bridges unnecessarily will be an inconvenience to residents.
