Municipalities and home owners associations have often ordered that homes in various communities need to be repainted because they didn’t conform to community rules or guidelines. What do you think of conformity rules when it comes to paint color selection?

They are unnecessary and infringe on people’s rights to paint their homes the color they choose.
They are necessary to ensure property values of adjoining homes are not affected.
They are necessary to curb paint jobs that would be offensive or otherwise cause blight.
They are unnecessary because variety can improve a community.
