The Senate has submit a budget ....it is the law. Obama and Reid has not done this.

... Has to submit a budget.....

Accountability rests on the Administration. The objective of the 3 branches is balance of power and to adhere to the Constitution. Previous presidents have had to negotiate, this president does not want to due to being in bed with the Media and frankly does not care about what happens to the County. This is fundamental change towards dictatorship. My opinion

This is the Koch brothers agenda to help the fat cats get fatter, no matter how much it harms hundreds of thousands- or millions of Americans or America. In fact, that is what they want, to destroy Democracy in America. The Speaker and his henchmen should be tried for sedition.

If the House "Tea Party" Republicans are listed as a potential selection, how were the Democrats left off the list of possible choices? How about "The Democratic-Controlled Senate?"

Comment from Andrew Piedl, (10/10/2013, 9:00 AM)

Perhaps the Democratic Controlled-Senate was left off of the list because they had not been engineering a shut down of the government for the last year the way Koch Tea has been. Maybe what is left of the unions in this country will wise up and refuse to put their hands on any Koch product, like they did with steel from Japan many years ago (not that it helped U.S. Steel in the long run).

To understand what is taking place it is necessary to remove partisan concepts and see the larger picture. Both parties are mere caretakers for the economic plutocracy that controls the US. Democracy was kidnapped long ago by the ruling elites and replaced by and expensive circus disguised as a democratic process in which cattle-electors are presented with a choice of electing the rich or the wealthy. The circus doesn’t attract much attention; barely 40% of the electorate participates: the rest can’t be bother. Notice how the ruling elites will donate indistinctively to either party or to both?, essentially both parties - with small variations and the occasional struggle - represent the same vision and both defend the same interest domestically and abroad….welcome to the CIRCUS USA!!

Comment from Jim Johnson, (10/10/2013, 2:17 PM)

Though I blame the shut down on both Reid and the President, that really is not the real problem. For the first time in the history of America we see an administration, directed by the President, doing everything they can to injure the American people. This is in direct opposition to the reason a federal government was established! The federal government was established to help and protect the people. When any federal representative acts to intentionally harm the American public it is Treason! The three branches of government will eventually settle their differences, but that does not negate the fact that the President, and agency heads, have intentionally committed a crime against the people of America any more than a bank robber returning the money. The House should charge each of them with Treason immediately. For the first time ever, elected officials are openly and intentionally working to harm Americans and, irregardless of your party affiliation, we all, you included, should stand up for our country and the rule of law. If we allow this line to be crossed with impunity then we will no longer be a free people, we will have allowed that freedom to slip away. Every war we have fought, every soldier who has sacrificed themselves for us, will have been in vain if we openly allow Treason from within to occur. Each Representative in the House has taken an oath to defend the Constitution and it is time we call each of them and demand they uphold that oath and defend the Constitution and act so these people be charged with Treason immediately! It may be a circus as Car says, but they have gone a step further and crossed the line of acceptability.

"Under democracy one party always devotes its chief energies to trying to prove that the other party is unfit to rule--and both commonly succeed, and are right... The United States has never developed an aristocracy really disinterested or an intelligentsia really intelligent. Its history is simply a record of vacillations between two gangs of frauds." - H. L. Mencken

Comment from M. Halliwell, (10/15/2013, 10:58 AM)

As someone on the outside looking in, all I see is that there is a “black or white“ thing going on...if the Democrats have it wrong on something, then the Republicans "must" be right...and with both parties seemingly always trying to prove the "black and white" of each situation....as well as the political scheming, favoritism, "pork barrel" politics, etc., etc., ad nauseaum....what's left isn't pretty. It almost seems like the US is due to either get rid of political parties and get back to their roots (each area sends a representative...sans party affiliation...to represent *them*) or they need more parties to make things more "grey" rather than "black or white" and have more than the two extremes in views that have come from a two party only policy.

Comment from Car F., (10/16/2013, 5:48 PM)

M. Halliwell,.I agree sir..........., what is needed is REAL DEMOCRACY and not the charade in which candidates with the most resources - of either party - will get the seat, in elections were barely 40% of the people vote. Democracy is worth rescuing it, this two party system [with the same narrow self-interests] is damaging the social fabric of the country, ruining the economy, the environment and crushing the hopes of its citizens.
