In June, Canadian pipeline company TC Energy Corp. announced that it was officially canceling the $8 billion Keystone XL pipeline project. Do you expect other oil and gas pipeline projects will succumb to the same fate?

Unfortunately, there will be others. The Keystone XL would have been the most economical, safest, and most carbon neutral means to transport oil to the refineries. With the Keystone shut down the precedent is set.

It will be the case I am afraid for most large Canadian Infrastructure projects for the foreseeable future..Pipelines are well known to be the Achille sheel of O&G projectdevelopment - generally the only portion wide open to public input (though share holder activism is on the rise )Re Keystone XL , it would have been in service a long time had TC opted to parallel its existing ROW rather than opt to save on length and supposed costs by triangulating and crossing the Ogillalla aquifer. They underestimated (if indeed they even considered) the opposition of the original Republican landowners
