In a recent study, researchers from UGA suggested a new way to prioritize bridge maintenance by looking at time-dependent element interactions, also known as coactiveness. While bridges have an average 75-year lifespan, the researchers claimed that by employing their maintenance method, the infrastructure lifespan could be extended beyond 100 years.
