Viking Acquires Industrial Service Company

MONDAY, MAY 8, 2023

Water tower painting, inspection and maintenance company Viking Industrial Painting announced the purchase of York, Pennsylvania-based Minoan Industrial Services at the beginning of the month.

According to the emailed release, Minoan is an industrial services company that serves clients in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington D.C., Delaware and Northern Virginia. It is owned and operated by second-generation industrial painter and NACE Level 2 Coatings Inspector George Tzanakakis.

Viking reports that Tzanakakis’ father started as an industrial painter in Greek shipyards in the 1970s, before moving to America about 40 years ago. He learned the business while in middle school and high school, working in the office for his dad as an interpreter.

“Viking is the top of our industry, and we could not be more excited about this partnership,” said Tzanakakis. “Our companies share a common vision of providing exceptional service and innovation to our clients, and we believe that this acquisition will enable us to achieve that vision on an even greater scale.”
