Bids Invited for Water Tank Contract
The City of Ludington, MI, is accepting bids for a full-service, 10-year tank maintenance and asset program for the Brye Road water storage tank.
Bids are due by Aug. 14.
Scope of Work
Work on the 500,000-gallon ground level water storage tank will involve cleaning and recoating interior and exterior surfaces on the first and last years (2013 and 2022) of the contract.
The interior will be abrasive blast-cleaned to a Near-White finish (SSPC-SP 10) and lined with an epoxy system. The exterior will be abrasive pressure washed to 4,000 psi, and spot hand- and power tool-cleaned to SSPC-SP 2 and SP 3 and recoated.
The remainder of the contract years will primarily involve inspection services and as-needed repairs, including touch-up coating, bio-film removal every three years, washouts, disinfection and the elimination of thermal stratification.
The tank was painted in 2001 by M.K. Painting for $47,000.
