Polysiloxane Topcoat Eases Application

TUESDAY, JULY 9, 2013

A new acrylic polysiloxane topcoat has rolled out to the North American market, International Paint LLC announced.

Interfine 1080 is a low-VOC finish coat in a single-pack formulation designed for industrial and offshore applications that require a high standard cosmetic appearance.

The coating was developed to provide a better aesthetic, environmental and cost-saving alternative to traditional two-pack polysiloxane and polyurethane topcoats, according to the company.

"With a single-pack product the complexity of mixing part A with part B is removed, thereby reducing the possibility of error," said Dave Maurer, Protective Coatings Senior Product Marketing Manager, North America.

"The easy-to-use formulation will save both time and material costs, while providing exceptional performance and long-term aesthetics," said Maurer.

It does not contain isocyanates and can be applied by brush or roller in several on-site and maintenance applications, such as storage tank externals, pipelines, railings, structural steel and commercial infrastructure.
