MONDAY, JUNE 3, 2013

Behr has introduced an exterior paint "with primer qualities" that is designed to provide "exceptional" dirt and rain resistance and fade protection in residential applications.

Behr calls the new Marquee Exterior Paint & Primer its "most advanced paint and primer," with the ability to repel rain showers as early as 60 minutes after application.

The formulation is designed to deliver a tough, non-stick surface that helps resist dirt buildup and provides advanced UV protection and gloss protection "for longer-lasting, more lustrous color," according to Behr.

Weather Protection

Behr senior vice president Scott Richards says the coating withstands severe weather conditions and calls it "Behr's best exterior paint ever."

"As a topcoat, Behr Marquee paint’s 100 percent acrylic, less-than-50-VOC formula, provides excellent hide and delivers a durable, mildew-resistant finish," Richards says. "With its primer qualities, the product offers excellent adhesion to exterior surfaces along with the ability to block exterior stains."

The new line is available in flat, satin enamel, and semi-gloss enamel sheens in 64 colors and can be tinted to any color in Behr’s existing palette of 2,000 hues or custom color matched. Behr Marquee Exterior Paint & Primer is sold exclusively through The Home Depot stores and retails for $45.98 tp $48.98 per gallon.
