Viral Video Shows Spectacular Splatter
Blowing up glass bottles of paint with firecrackers may not be the safest experiment, but it certainly makes a great viral video.
With 4,811,081 views as of press time, The Slow Mo Guys, Daniel Gruchy and Gavin Free, have created a popular YouTube video by exploding paint in super slow motion.
Using a Phantom V1610 camera (which carries a price tag of $100,000 according to Bornrich.com), British pals Gruchy and Free don lab coats and load firecrackers into small glass bottles of paint.
"High-speed cameras are really expensive, and I don't think anyone as young as us—and especially no one as immature as us—has regular access to these cameras," Free said in an earlier video.
At 15,000 frames per second, which is 600 times slower than human vision in real time, The Slow Mo Guys load firecrackers, or "bangers," into colorful glass bottles of paint and let the shenanigans begin.

'Dog's Dinner' Paint Job
Watching the bottles burst in real time isn't anything too exciting, but when the colorful explosions are slowed down, there is something quite spectacular about seeing the multicolored splatters spray the room as they blow up.
But it's definitely not something to try at home, unless you're prepared to recklessly repaint your space.
"Dog's dinner on the ceiling! Look at that!" Free exclaims once the experiment is over.
Then he notices a tiny splash of yellow paint on his lab coat: "Ahhh, bloody nightmare, look at that!"
It's not the first time the duo has blown up paint for a video. In January, their video of exploding buckets of paint reached 1,816,737 views.

Dan and Gav shoot all of their videos in HD using high-speed cinema cameras. The duo has 1,829,289 subscribers to their YouTube channel, and their videos have garnered 204,893,744 views.
Other popular vidoes from the guys include titles like "Exploding Condom on Head," "Gravity Defying Cat," "Rubber Bands vs. Watermelon," and the most popular, with over 32 million views: "Giant 6ft Water Balloon."
The Slow Mo Guys won YouTube's On the Rise Contest in April 2011, and, in September 2012, their video involving crushing watermelons was featured on The Tonight Show.
