New Coatings Protect Tanks and Piping
Induron Protective Coatings has released two new products for the sewage and water industries.
Ceramapure PL 90 is a barrier coating formulated for ductile iron pipe and fittings. The environmentally friendly ceramic epoxy coating can be used on both potable water piping and sewage piping, the company says.
Indurethane 6600 Plus LC is a LEED-compliant, chemical- and stain-resistant polyurethane coating designed for aggressive environments, including water storage tanks and treatment plants. The company says the product complies with VOC emission standards for industrial maintenance coatings and can perform in severe climates.
"Induron prides itself on offering innovative products to meet the growing demands of the global marketplace," said Davies Hood, president.
2 Coatings, 2 Purposes
Indurethane 6600 Plus LC retains its gloss and color for many years as a finish coat on properly prepared interior or exterior surfaces; however, it is not suitable for immersion service, according to Induron. The coating also offers 50 percent extended protection from ultra-violet light.
The acryclic polyurethane can be applied with by airless spray, roller, or brush over an epoxy primer, intermediate coat or directly to steel prepared to SSPC-SP 6 (Commercial Blast).
Ceramapure PL 90, a two-component, high-solids, chemically cured ceramic epoxy, is certified for potable water immersion service for pipe diameters of four inches or larger, according to the company.
