TQC Heats Up New Temperature Line

TQC will introduce new options and products focusing on the effect of temperature on paint-related chemistry at the 2013 European Coatings Show.

The new line of products, called TQC ThermoKinetics, includes a drying time recorder, a data logger, and a thermal test center.

The European Coatings Show will take place on March 19-21 in Nürnberg, Germany.

ThermoKinetics Products

The new TQC ThermoKinetics line comprises several products.

CurveX-3 Basic is the newest model of TQC's CurveX Oven Datalogger, which the company calls the"best-known product" of the ThermoKinetics product range. The CurveX has more than 6,000 users in 40 countries, the manufacturer says.

A completely new option item for the TQC Automatic Film Applicator is the drying time recorder. The drying time option turns the automatic film applicator into a drying time recorder with an electrical heated vacuum bed that can test  the temperature on paint and coatings.

TQC is also introducing the CureView Thermal Test Center. This flexible oven allows the user to heat up test panels on a heated glass bed to temperatures ranging from ambient to 300°F in a variety of patterns, the company says.

Gloss Meters

TQC will also use the European Coatings Show to introduce the European market to its new series of gloss meters that were launched in 2012 in the United States.

The TQC Gloss meter comes in three models:

  • Sologloss measures at a 60° angle;
  • Duogloss measures at 20°/60°; and
  • Polygloss measures at 20°/60°/85°.

"The high level of accuracy equals or exceeds most bench gloss meters, making it a perfect fit for high demand laboratory applications or QC in surface finishing lines," according to TQC.
