Erasable Paint Clears Wall Scrawls
Kids can doodle, students can figure, and office workers can brainstorm all over their walls with Sherwin-Williams' new Dry Erase 2K Waterborne Clear Gloss.
Applied over regular colored wall paint, the new wipe-clean coating creates "versatile, economical dry erase boards for a wide variety of applications in schools, businesses and homes," according to the Cleveland-based paint maker, which rolled out the product recenly at the International Builders' Show.
For Pros Only
Dry Erase Clear Gloss is formulated to be exclusively sold to and applied by professional paint contractors, not do-it-yourselfers, the company said.
“This is an extremely versatile coating that lends itself to many add-on sales opportunities for commercial and residential contractors,” said Karl Schmitt, vice president, marketing, Sherwin-Williams.
The coating can be applied to virtually any interior substrate and over any paint color, producing a durable, clear gloss finish that wipes clean for years of use without "ghosting,” the company said.
Sherwin-Williams says the coating has "reduced odor compared to other dry erase coatings," making it suitable for use in classrooms, homes, conference rooms and small businesses.
The coating can also be removed or painted over, the company said.
