TQC Launches SuperPIG Paint Gauge

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 30, 2013

Quality control equipment maker TQC (Thermimport Quality Control) has introduced the SP1100 SuperPIG, a destructive precision tool for inspection and thickness measurement on single or multiple coats on virtually all substrates.

The SP1100 SuperPIG can be used to observe and measure substrate and film defects on wood, plastics, metals and other substrates. An integrated microscope with a double scale (mm and inch) allows users to calculate to micrometers and mils, while a rubber endcap reduces ambient light for improved observation.

The unit, made of titanium anodyzed aluminum, features:

  • Three knife sizes and one crosscut knife in one holder;
  • An ergonomic design, with a revolving system to change knives;
  • Bright white LED lights for clear vision through the microscope;
  • A small size, to ease use in corners; and
  • Engraved scaling (D-factor) for easy calculations.

Founded in 1977, TQC provides test equipment and measuring instruments for coating and finishing applications.
