ACA Publishes Paint, Coatings Market Analysis

Last week, the American Coating Association released its new market study publication, which offers a data analysis with five-year projections for sector and segment performance in the paint and coatings market.

The U.S. Market Analysis for the Paint & Coatings Industry was prepared by global business strategy and external technology development firm The ChemQuest Group, Inc.

Th report covers three primary categories of coatings: Architectural, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and Special Purpose, as well as the many sub-segments within those categories. Chapters focus on sector analysis, market trends and drivers, unmet needs, competitive landscape and future forecasts.

ACA says that the study is “essential” for strategic business planning, as ChemQest also has a focus and expertise specific to the specialty chemicals markets, including coatings, adhesives, and sealants formulated products and raw materials, this new study is essential for strategic business planning.

The new market study reportedly features the following:

  • Profile of 20+ market segments;
  • Market and growth forecasts in volume, value and price, through 2028;
  • Sector analysis and market dynamics, including end-use markets, economic and trade influences, technology trends and drivers (including R&D initiatives), regulatory and environmental influences, Porter’s Five Forces Analysis and key buying factors; and

Upcoming American Coatings Conference

The 2024 American Coatings Show and Conference is scheduled for April 30 through May 2 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

The ACA's release states that the 2024 American Coatings Conference will showcase a curated, varied program across multiple topical tracks, offering around 90 technical sessions.

This year's conference theme, in partnership with Vincentz Network, is “Innovations in Coatings Technology: Shaping Our Future.”

ACS describes the annual event as a “leading North American industry event, setting trends for future developments in the industry ... Offering immediate business opportunities, a complete portfolio of high-grade competitive products, and access to top coatings decision makers.”

Exhibitors and attendees will have the chance to explore an interactive floor plan that will feature companies and new products in the coatings industry. The American Coatings Conference will also provide a comprehensive overview of advancements in coatings formulations, as well as key technological developments.

In October, the association announced that Dr. Robert Roop, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Axalta Coating Systems, will give the keynote address at the 2024 American Coatings Conference.

According to ACA’s emailed release, Dr. Roop’s speech will explore the shift in coating innovation’s focus from improved performance to improved sustainability due to societal demand.
