Bids Needed for KS Courthouse Chamber Painting

Douglas County, Kansas, is soliciting bids for the renovation of the Douglas County Commission Chamber located in the historic Douglas Kansas Courthouse.

The submittal date for this project is Feb. 20. A pre-bid meeting will be held on Jan. 30 at 10 a.m. 

Scope of Work

This project involves removing existing paint, repairing substrates and plain painting of historic surfaces. Although the building was built in 1903, much of the wood within has been well maintained within its 121-year span. 

Interior work requires application of a three-coat latex system on wood, gypsum board and plaster.

Surfaces shall be cleaned and prepared according to the MPI DSD 0-3 standards based on each surface’s condition.

Owner-specified paint and coatings includes Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, Behr Paint Company, Dunn-Edwards, PPG Paints, Pratt & Lambert, Rust-Oleum, Tnemec and ProSoCo.
