New Product Announcement: Insulation, Wall System

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2023

Building materials firm Sto Corp. recently introduced a new graphite-enhanced, 100% closed-cell expanded polystyrene insulation board, as well as a new wall system from the company.

According to the company’s press release, the insulation board can be used in a variety of applications, including in the new StoTherm ci GPS wall system, as well as the improved StoTherm ci MVES and StoPowerwall ci systems.

“Sto GPS Board provides substantial benefits over other rigid insulation products,” explained Richard Martens, Sto Corp.’s Director of Business Development.  “We are eager to get it in the hands of contractors and architects so they can see just how great it really is.”

Sto GPS Board is reportedly cut in thicknesses that align with ASHRAE 90.1 prescriptive continuous insulation requirements. It also features an R-value per inch of 4.7 at 75 degrees Fahrenheit, making it more thermally efficient than expanded polystyrene.

Sto adds that, as a result, it features low global warming potential (GWP) and zero ozone depletion potential (ODP). It is also available in all 50 U.S. states.

The new StoTherm ci GPS is an exterior insulation and finish system, reportedly based on a combination of two of the company’s existing products. According to Sto, Sto TurboStick cures quickly and the Sto GPS Board provides a thinner wall section for a given R-value.

According to the company’s press release, the insulation board can be used in a variety of applications, including in the new StoTherm ci GPS wall system, as well as the improved StoTherm ci MVES and StoPowerwall ci systems.

Available in a variety of aesthetics, such as StoCast Wood, StoCast Brick and StoSignature textures, the wall system is a silver-grey color that provides reportedly less glare than white EPS.
