Bids Open for New Houston Airport Building

The Houston Airport System is soliciting bids for the construction of a new airport office building at George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

The submittal date for this project is Nov. 2.

Scope of Work

This project involves construction and painting of a new building designed to hold the Integrated Coordination Center (ICC) and Emergency Operations Center (EOC) at Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Interior work is scheduled to include application of a four-coat alkyd system on steel substrates, and a three-coat latex system on gypsum board and plaster substrates.

Surfaces must be cleaned and prepared in accordance with standards for Power Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3), Commercial Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3), and Brush-Off Blast Cleaning of Coated and Uncoated Galvanized Steel, Stainless Steels, and Non-Ferrous Metals (SSPC-SP 16).

Owner-specified manufacturers for this project include Behr, Duron, Glidden, PPG Paints and Pratt & Lambert.
