New Product Announcement: Water-Based Rust Converter

Manufacturer of paints and coatings HMG Paints has announced the relaunch of Ferrozinc, a water-based rust converter, meant for areas where shot blasting or complete rust removal is impractical or impossible.

According to the release, the product is a solution for people working in the decorative or industrial markets, as well as car enthusiasts.

“Ferrozinc has been a popular product for our customers for a number of years and we’re proud to introduce the new 250ml size,” commented James Burton of HMG. “It’s such a handy product for users in a number of industries from decorators and industrial applicators to agricultural and classic vehicle restoration.”

The release states that users will only need to remove loose debris and “poorly adhered surface rust,” followed by a degreasing step to eliminate any contamination that could interfere with the chemical reaction. Within 30 minutes, according to HMG, the surface transforms into a black or navy color which indicates a successful conversion.

Additionally, any excess product can reportedly be wiped off and, after about 3 hours, the treated surface will be ready to be overcoated with the user’s preferred coating system.

Ferrozinc's water-based formulation can reportedly provide excellent rust conversion properties and ensure a low odor, making it a user-friendly option.
