Homebuilders Name PPG Exclusive Paint Provider
Earlier this week, global coatings company PPG announced two new agreements with homebuilders to exclusively offer its paints and coatings to customers for new home builds.
The first five-year agreement, with Brightland Homes, will reportedly provide PPG’s full portfolio across all operating segments in Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Tennessee and Florida. According to the release, the partnership is anticipated to enhance designs and craftmanship of the company.
“At Brightland Homes, we’re dedicated to providing homebuyers with nothing short of an exceptional experience,” said Justin Eicher, Chief Development Officer, Brightland Homes.
“PPG’s commitment to excellent customer service and deep product knowledge, in addition to a portfolio of high-quality paint options, is consistent with our mission. Our expanded relationship will enable us to provide industry-leading paint products to create beautiful homes that exceed customer expectations.
The second partnership is a four-year agreement with the 30th largest homebuilder, Fischer Homes. The company will reportedly offer PPG Paints products to its customers in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri and Georgia.
“We are proud to partner with PPG to offer our customers a nationally recognized brand of professional-grade paints,” said Jorge Espinosa, market purchasing manager for Fischer Homes. “We are confident that the combination of our design expertise and PPG’s innovative paints and color options will produce beautiful results that exceed our customer expectations.”
Additionally, PPG plans to join Fischer Homes in their partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by donating the paint and needed supplies for three St. Jude Dream Homes this year.
Courtney Jungjohann Deemer, PPG General Manager, U.S. Trade, Architectural Coatings, notes that the company “has been a leader in the paint and coatings industry for 140 years” and they are “excited” to partner with the homebuilders to bring “expertise and innovative, solution-driven products to its residential customers.”
Recent PPG Partnerships
In April, PPG announced that its Glidden paint brand is set to become the primary paint brand at national retailer Walmart. According to the release, the multiyear agreement significantly expands PPG’s current lineup of interior and exterior paints at Walmart locations.
As of April 5, customers are able to purchase the paint on Walmart’s website, with 3,800 stores in the United States expected to follow soon. The retailer reports that the new assortment includes a range of affordable options with prices starting at $13.97 for Glidden Quick Cover paint to $49.94 for Glidden High Endurance Plus paint.
PPG reports that Glidden products sold at Walmart are low-odor, low-VOC offerings. Several products in the assortment are Greenguard Gold certified, verifying that these products aim to contribute to safer, cleaner air. The expanded lineup also features the Glidden Grab-N-Go ready-to-use paint options, available in 25 premixed colors.
PPG adds that the expanded product assortment available at Walmart will continue to include Olympic stain products that cater to woodcare enthusiasts. Similar to the Glidden product lineup, Olympic options will reportedly be available at tiered price points, with Olympic Quick Cover, Olympic Water Guard and Olympic Wood Protector.
At the beginning of the year, PPG and the National Hockey League also announced a three-year extension of their North American partnership. Through the exclusive paint partnership, PPG will continue to serve as the Official Paint of the NHL in the United States and Canada. Financial details and terms regarding the recent extension were not disclosed.
