Polynt Opens Canada Coatings Resin Plant

MONDAY, MAY 8, 2023

Last week, coating resins manufacturer Polynt Group announced the opening of its new resin plant in Canada. According to the release, the expansion will be further enhanced with the opening of Polynt Coatings Canada Limited in Port Moody, British Columbia, during the second half of the year.

Polynt reports that this investment will allow the company to add further capacity and flexibility in conventional alkyds, oil-modified urethanes and water-based technologies.

The expansion plans to serve the North American coatings market were first announced in July of last year.

At the time, the company added that it would meet growing customer demand for additional capacity and expanded regional availability throughout North America for alkyd, polyester, copolymer, emulsion and urethane resin technologies.

“This expansion shows Polynt’s continued commitment to support our customers in this dynamic resin marketplace,” wrote Polynt.

Polynt Group reports it now has over 3,100 employees in 35 manufacturing operations throughout North and South America, Europe and Asia. In addition to coating resins, the manufacturer produces composite materials, intermediate chemicals, thermosetting composites, gel coats and niche chemical specialties.
