Navy Seeking Bids for VA Building Upgrades

The Department of the Navy, Naval Facilities Engineering Command is soliciting bids for building upgrades and repairs.

The submittal date for this project is May 24.

Scope of Work

This project involves painting and renovations to Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek - Fort Story, Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Interior work is scheduled to include a three-coat system of latex on concrete, masonry, steel, and ferrous metal surfaces, including sprinkler systems, valves, conduits, exposed piping, and adjacent surfaces. A three-coat system of epoxy will be required on specified concrete surfaces.

Surfaces must be cleaned and prepared in accordance with standards for Solvent Cleaning (SSPC-SP 1), Hand Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2), and Power Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3), Commercial Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3), Brush-Off Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 7/NACE No. 4), Near-White Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2), Cleaning of Metals by Waterjetting (SSPC-SP 12/NACE No. 5), and Surface Preparation of Concrete (SSPC-SP 13/NACE No. 6).
