Contractors Wanted for TX Stadium Repairs
The City of San Antonio is soliciting bids for structural repairs to a 64,000-seat domed indoor multi-purpose stadium.
The submittal date for this project is April 18.
Scope of Work
This project involves painting and structural remediation work to the Alamodome in San Antonio.
Exterior work involves applying a three-coat system of zinc-rich primer, an epoxy intermediate and urethane finish on steel substrates. Spot epoxy and urethane coats will be applied to specified steel substrates. Epoxy penetrating sealer will be applied to pack rust areas, and where steel is not abrasive blast-cleaned. A coating system of penetrating sealer/corrosion inhibitor and two-coats of latex elastomeric coating will be required for concrete substrates.
Interior work is scheduled to include application of a coating system of spot epoxy primer and urethane finish coat on steel surfaces. Specified steel surfaces will require a full coating of epoxy penetrating sealer.
Surfaces must be cleaned and prepared in accordance with standards for Solvent Cleaning (SSPC-SP 1), Hand Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2), Power Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3), Commercial Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3), Near-White Metal Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2), Power Tool Cleaning to Bare Metal (SSPC-SP 11) and Surface Preparation of Concrete (SSPC-SP 13/NACE No. 6).
Certifications for SSPC-QP 1, QP 2 and QP 3 are required.
The owner-specified manufacturers for this project are Carboline, International Paint, Sherwin-Williams and Sika.
