New Product Announcement: Roofing Adhesive
A new roofing product has been recently released by Soprema (Wadsworth, Ohio), a leader in the commercial roofing, waterproofing, wall protection and civil engineering waterproofing industries.
In an emailed press release, Soprema shared that its Duotack two-component, low-rise spray polyurethane foam (SPF) adhesive features a hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) blowing agent, making it highly sustainable and significantly better for the environment.
The Duotack SPF HFO Adhesive was developed to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and is noted to have enhanced performance for adhering fleece-back membranes, insulation and coverboards.
“One of Soprema’s primary aims is to supply high-performance products that are safe for people and the environment,” said Soprema Product Manager Matt Mitchell. “The new Duotack SPF HFO formulation complies with all state and local environmental HFO regulations. It contains no ozone-depleting chemicals or HFCs, and it further elevates the product performance that contractors expect from a market-leading, low-pressure spray foam adhesive.”
According to Soprema, Duotack SPF HFO’s canister system provides faster setup and shutdown, and the trigger-lock dispenser with stop-and-start capability prevents material waste. In addition, the ColorWise Temperature Warning Nozzles change from clear to blue to indicate if the product is too cold to be properly applied.
Depending on the weather conditions and type of insulation, the HFO formulation provides up to 20% additional coverage per set when compared with HFC blowing agents.
Other key features of each set include:
Soprema adds that Duotack SPF HFO’s easy-to-use, pre-assembled kit eliminates the need for expensive equipment.
