Allnex Opens New R&D Center in Austria

Allnex, an international supplier of resins for architectural, industrial, OEM and special purpose coatings, recently announced the opening of a new state-of-the-art research and development center in Werndorf, Austria.

According to the release, the multi-million-euro project is a part of the company’s strategic plan to help the industry in the development of sustainable, environmentally friendly resins and respond to the challenges of evolving trends.

“R and D is of strategic importance to allnex and the establishment of product development in proximity of production will enable us to translate innovations into products even faster,” said Goetz Pelikan, Managing Director of allnex Austria GmbH.

The main focus of the new center will reportedly be the development of new low-VOC, waterborne and VOC-compliant resins and additives for the global coatings markets.

The investment features the installation of the latest automated, high throughout synthesis and application equipment. Allnex reports that this equipment will increase the overall effectiveness of the laboratory and increase speed to market of new, sustainable solutions.
