Abrasives Inc. Acquires Surface Prep Distributor

Manufacturer and distributor of abrasive media Abrasives Incorporated recently announced via emailed release that it has acquired surface preparation equipment and supply distributor Haller-Phillips Incorporated.

Opened in 1962, Haller-Phillips is a distributor of blasting equipment, parts, consumables and various blasting media servicing the oil and gas industry in New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma. It has reportedly been a distributor of Abrasive Inc.’s Black Magic coal slag for several decades.

The company has locations in Hobbs, New Mexico; Odessa, Texas; Seagraves, Texas; and Brady, Texas. The company reports that it partners with brands such as GMA Garnet, Axxiom/Schmidt Blast Systems, GVS-RPB, Kennametal Blast Nozzles, Clemco Industries, Natrium Products, PFS Mineral Sands, Dolen Sands and Ervin Industries, among others.

“With the purchase of Haller-Phillips in West Texas and New Mexico, we are able to combine resources to better serve customers in two of the largest oil fields in the U.S.,” said Russell Raad, President of Abrasives Incorporated.

Manufacturer and distributor of abrasive media Abrasives Incorporated recently announced via emailed release that it has acquired surface preparation equipment and supply distributor Haller-Phillips Incorporated.

The company reports that the acquisition fits into its strategy to meet their customers’ needs and their goal of supplying product “where they need it, when they need it.” Raad explained that the acquisition can aid customers who travel for projects or have operations in the Southwest.

Additionally, the acquisition is “exciting” because Abrasives Inc. is an employee-owned company, allowing employees of Haller-Phillips to have the same opportunity to become owners within the new company.
