With the extended deadline recently announced for the sixth annual Elevation Awards, we will be counting down to July 29 with featured selections of this year’s nominees, giving readers a glimpse of the competition.
Below is a selected nominee in the “New Construction” category.
Project: The Dream Wheel at American Dream Mall
After two decades of planning, a new attraction in New Jersey opened to the public earlier this year. Located at the American Dream Mall and operated by Skyviews of America, The Dream Wheel takes guests on a 30-minute ride with sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline, the Hudson River and the Meadowlands.

Made up of 27 climate-controlled gondolas, each capable of holding up to 16 passengers, The Dream Wheel weighs 750 tons, stands 300 feet tall and sits on a 1,200-ton platform.
Prior to opening the attraction, local contractor GA Flooring Company Corporation (Highland Park, New Jersey) was hired to apply coatings to the attraction’s lobby floor.
For the project, GA Flooring Company Corporation covered 2,500 square feet of flooring with custom-colored Sika MultiDur EC—a solid color, high gloss, resin-rich, seamless, epoxy-based floor coating—to create the visually impactful floor in the lobby of the unique attraction.
According to the company’s submission, the flooring system is engineered to handle heavy pedestrian traffic with very low maintenance while delivering top-shelf aesthetics.
The application of Sikafloor MultiDur EC was completed in November 2021. The American Dream Mall’s Dream Wheel officially opened to the public on April 13.
