TUESDAY, JUNE 28, 2022

Global liquid and powder coatings supplier Axalta recently announced the launch of what it calls the first premium universal thermosetting powder primer available in the world. Alesta ZeroZinc UniPrime has been released in the EMEA region and is available from local Axalta offices.

According to the company, like other products in the Alesta ZeroZinc range, UniPrime has been formulated in accordance with High Density Crosslinking technology to prevent corrosion and extend a painted structure’s working life. The epoxy resin-formulated primer is reportedly easy to apply and meets stringent anti-corrosion requirements.

ZeroZinc UniPrime can be applied to all types of substrates, including steel, hot dig galvanized steel, metallized steel, aluminum and degassing media. It can also cover hard-to-reach places and demanding shapes, such as expanded metal, perforated sheet steel and sharp edges.

Guillaume Tissot, Powder Marketing Manager Industrial EMEA, said, “The versatile ZeroZinc UniPrime enables the use of a single primer for any substrate – black steel, galvanized steel, metalized steel, aluminium, etc. This improves stock control, increases productivity, and helps cashflow.”

“Uniprime is the ‘all-round’ product for job coaters,” added Julien Marti, Product Manager, Axalta Coating Systems France S.A.S. “From the buyer to the shop manager to the painter: it’s simple with a single product that covers all substrates. This simplifies production, avoids confusion and human error, and facilitates daily handling by the operators. It also ensures quality thanks to its proven coating and anti-corrosion performance.”
