Garland Receives Vizient Contract


Roofing manufacturer and building envelope solution provider The Garland Company, Inc. (Cleveland) recently announced via emailed press release that it received a contract from the nation’s largest member-driven healthcare improvement company, Vizient.

The contract for roofing systems and building envelope solutions officially took effect on June 1.

The Garland Company’s roofing systems and full-service approach are delivered through nearly 200 roofing experts nationwide and its Design-Build Solutions subsidiary (DBS). Together, the Garland/DBS team allows clients to achieve a lower total lifecycle cost for their roofing and waterproofing needs with a combination of building envelope products and project management support.

In January, global roofing solutions provider Garland Industries announced the promotion of Matthew McDermott as President of The Garland Company, its commercial roofing division for the United States.

According to Garland, the commercial roofing division is the company’s flagship roofing brand and the original core business of Garland Industries. The Garland Company U.S. Roofing Division manufactures high-performance roofing and building envelope solutions for commercial, industrial and institutional markets.

As conveyed in the company’s emailed press release, McDermott joined Garland back in 2011 after working as a roofing contractor for 10 years. During his first years at Garland, McDermott worked as a territory manager in Southeast Florida and was named the company’s “Rookie of the Year.” Since then, he has served in a variety of sales and marketing leadership roles with increasing responsibility.

McDermott earned a bachelor’s degree from William Penn University in Iowa and completed his business graduate program from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School.
