Contractors Needed for Water Tank Improvement

Spotsylvania County, Virginia, is currently seeking contractors for the rehabilitation of a ground storage reservoir.

Bids are due April 28.

Scope of Work

This project involves the cleaning, repairing and painting of the two-million-gallon Gordon Road Concrete Ground Storage Reservoir.

This project includes the cleaning of exterior concrete surfaces using Power Tool Cleaning to Surface Preparation of Concrete standards (SSPC-SP 13/NACE No. 6). These surfaces will be coated using a modified waterborne acrylate system.

This project also includes the cleaning of interior wet steel surfaces using the standards associated with Power Tool Cleaning to Bare Steel (SSPC-SP 11/NACE No. 1). The steel surfaces will receive a polyamidoamine epoxy coating system after cleaning.

Finally, all interior wet concrete substrate surfaces will be cleaned using Power Tool Cleaning to Concrete Surfaces Preparation of Concrete standards (SSPC-SP 13/ NACE No. 6). Following the cleaning, the surfaces are to be coated using an epoxy modified cementitious mortar filler/surfacer, and a modified polyamine epoxy primer and finish coating.

The sole-approved coating brand for this project is Tnemec.
