Contractors Needed for Water Tank Improvement


The City of Westerville, Ohio, is currently seeking contractors for the improvement of a one-million-gallon spheroid water storage tank.

Bids are due April 8.

Scope of Work

This project involves the exterior painting and interior spot painting of a one-million-gallon, 92-foot-tall spheroid water storage tank.

The project includes the coating of dry interior surfaces using a two-coat epoxy system.

The awarded contractor will be responsible for the painting of exterior structural steel with a four-coat zinc/epoxy/urethane system. Lettering will be required.

The project also calls for the coating of exterior tank surfaces and overhead doors with a three-coat epoxy and urethane overcoating system.

Work also includes the coating of concrete foundations using a two-coat epoxy system.

Brands specified for this project that are approved by the owner are Tnemec, Induron, PPG and Sherwin-Williams.

The contractor has the choice to complete this project in the spring or fall of 2022.

Impressed current cathodic protection for elevated tanks without wet risers is required.
